Based in Sofia, Evolve Academy is more than just an English language schoolβitβs a hub for personal growth and skill development. Our mission goes beyond improving English fluency; we empower students to confidently use English in real-life situations and across diverse contexts.
At Evolve, we take a holistic approach to education, nurturing not only language skills but also essential life skills that are often overlooked in traditional classrooms. We equip our learners with lifelong learning strategies, enabling them to grow independently and continue their progress beyond the classroom.

Our founding
Hi, Iβm Shumana Aktaβan educator, curriculum designer, and camp leader with over a decade of international experience. Since beginning my teaching journey in Barcelona in 2013, Iβve worked with private schools, language academies, and summer camps across Europe and Asia, creating dynamic learning experiences that inspire creativity and confidence.
Iβm currently based in Sofia, Bulgaria, where I teach at Fusion School and St. Georgeβs Pre-School, while also running Evolve Academy International and developing our flagship program, Camp Evolve. Iβve previously worked with the American College of Sofia and the NGO Dechitsa, supporting youth through innovative education and mentorship.
With a background in Law (LLB) and a CELTA qualification, Iβm passionate about empowering young learners and transforming education through creativity, global connection, and purpose-driven learning.
